Overtime treated as if it never happens
Some lenders count none of it. Others count 50%, 60% or all of it once it is evidenced over a period. On a typical officer’s payslip that spread is the difference between a "no" and a comfortable "yes".
For police officers, staff and their families
Shift allowance, unsocial hours, overtime and a housing allowance can add thousands to what you can borrow — or be ignored entirely, depending on which lender sees the payslip. We know which is which, and it costs you nothing to find out.
Proud to support theNo fee. No obligation. We will not pass your details to anyone else.
Fee-free advice, one named adviser, and lenders who count your overtime.
Police income is not one number on one line, and an automated affordability check is not built for it. Four things go wrong more than anything else.
Some lenders count none of it. Others count 50%, 60% or all of it once it is evidenced over a period. On a typical officer’s payslip that spread is the difference between a "no" and a comfortable "yes".
These are contractual for most officers, but they sit in a line an automated system often cannot read. Placed with the right lender they are simply income.
London weighting, regional allowance and housing allowance are real money. Whether a lender counts them varies by lender and by allowance, not by logic.
Probationers, special constables, PCSOs, staff on fixed-term contracts and officers on secondment all get misread by systems designed for one salary and one employer.

Usually within the hour in working hours. A real adviser, not a switchboard taking a message.
Your income as lenders will actually read it, including the overtime and allowances.
One product, with the reasons in writing, then we submit and handle the lender.
Lender, solicitor and valuer. You get updates without having to ask.
There is no fee to you at any stage. When your mortgage completes the lender pays us a procuration fee, which is how the whole model works. If your case does not complete, we are not paid — which is also why we chase the solicitor.
No. An initial conversation and a decision in principle can be done with a soft search at most lenders, which is visible to you but not to others and does not affect your score. Nothing hard is run without you agreeing to it first.
Usually not. Plenty of lenders are comfortable with probationers in a permanent police role, and some are noticeably more comfortable than others. It is one of the things worth getting right first time.
It depends entirely on the lender: anywhere from none of it to all of it, usually evidenced over three to twelve months. Send us the payslips and we will tell you the real number rather than a hopeful one.
That is worth telling us early, because it changes where we go next and helps us avoid a second footprint. A decline at one lender says very little about the other hundred or so.
A short conversation. Nothing formal, no documents up front, and no obligation at the end of it.
No obligation, no fee, and no pressure at the end of it. Worst case you get an honest answer and half an hour back.
